BOTULINUM relaxes the muscles that cause the dynamic wrinkles. It is used mostly around the eyes and forehead to help wipe away the worry and frown lines , and the crow’s feet lines which form when our facial muscle contract. These wrinkles can make us appear to be frowning, even when we are not, because these muscles are still partially active even when relaxed. After treatment people will say “you are looking so young”!

Botulinum is also a very effective treatment for Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and there is now very exciting evidence that it helps with Migraine Headaches.

The art of treating you with Botulinum is to give just the right amount. Too little and you won’t see much, too much and your face will look frozen. At Revive, I believe that subtlety is the key – to avoid too much so that your face looks frozen. Botulinum begins to take effect after 24 hours but takes 5-10 days to be fully effective. During this time your face will gradually look younger and fresher. The effects last about 3-6 months, after which you can have further top-ups.

BOTOX^® is a prescription medicine containing 100 units of botulinum toxin tupe A for injection. It is used for the treatment of frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet. It should be administered only by trained medical professionals. Talk to your specialist about the benefits/risks of this procedure in appearance medicine. Cautions: people with defective neuro-muscular transmission disorders, infection at site of injection, glaucoma, pregnancy and lactation. Possible side effects include headaches, injection site pain/burning/stinging/bruising/swelling/redness, local muscle weakness including drooping eyelids/eyebrows, eyelid swelling, skin tightness, tingling sensations, aching/ itching forehead, nausea and flu-like symptoms. If you have any side effects or concerns, speak to your doctor. You will need to pay for this medicine. Normal doctors visit fees apply.

Young, healthy-looking skin contains an abundance of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). But as you age, sunlight and other factors can reduce the amount of HA in your skin. Daily use of sun block, moisturiser and makeup can easily clog the skin. Twice daily cleansing and regular exfoliation will keep your skin topically cleaned, but what about deep down inside the pores and follicles? If the skin was completely flat it would be fine just to scrub it… but it’s not! The skin has pores and follicles that need to be regularly cleaned. Dirty, blocked skin is characterized by blackheads, congestion and blemishes.

To vacuum the skin would be an ideal way of ensuring it is deeply cleaned and decongested. We don’t sweep carpets we vacuum them – it should be the same with our skin. Pores and follicles need to be cleaned from the inside.

MINIVAC system effectively vacuums the skin to deeply clean it. But what about washing it too?
The newest way to ensure you have the cleanest possible skin treatment is with Microhydrabrasion.

Hair Removal Treatment – be smooth and hair free
E-Light Hair Removal System removes hair from all parts of the body including face, legs, arms, underarms, back and bikini line area.Clients experience a mild stinging sensation but no local anaesthetic or pain medication is required as the E-Light has a cooling handle which allows safe treatment, cooling the skin down to -5 degrees, allowing for minimum discomfort.Most areas require approximately eight treatments, depending on various factors, such as hair thickness, the area treated and your hair growth cycle. Not all hairs are actively growing at the same time, but go through three distinct phases – growth, regression and resting.

Intense pulse light + RF = E-Light – E-Light works by disabling the hair (including white, blonde and fine hair) that is principally in the active growth stage phase at the time of treatment. Since other hairs will enter this active growth phase at different times, additional treatments may be necessary to disable the hair follicles in a given area, so intervals between treatments are six weekly.

Immediately following, the area may appear a bit red or swollen. Approximately seven days after treatment, you may experience what seems to be regrowth of hair. Actually, most of these hairs are being shed as a result of your treatment and in fact not re-growing, just falling out.

Between treatments DO NOT wax or pluck but it is permissible to shave. As intense pulse light + RF will make your skin photo sensitive, it is important to stay out of the sun for at least four weeks and use a good SPF on the treated area whilst in the sunshine. Please talk to your technician.

The E-Light intense pulsed light +RF can treat all skin colours and types. We expect between 70% and 90% reduction, however, we cannot control hormones activating new hair growth.

Treatment for Sun and Age Spots – for a brighter, clearer skin
E-Light is very effective for most types of pigmentation and can be reduced effectively with as little as three treatments, depending on the severity.You may feel a mild, brief pinching sensation but there is no need for topical anaesthetic or pain relief as the cooled hand piece increases patient comfort and minimises adverse skin reaction that can occur.

The E-Light procedure is selectively absorbed by the pigmented spots on your skin. Very shortly after treatment, the spots will darken and can appear like a graze. Over the course of the next one to three weeks, darkened spots will fade and flake off of their own accord (do not pick or use abrasive cleanser, exfoliants, depilatory or bleaching creams).

A good SPF must be used when outdoors to minimise sun damage and the appearance of age spots. Vitamin C is needed to shut down the receptors which trigger pigmentation in the sun. Please talk to your technician.

Skin Rejuvenation – your skin will look younger, plumper and more radiant
The E-Light is very effective for skin rejuvenation procedures.You may feel a mild stinging sensation but with the effective cooling system on the treatment handle, this means no need for topical anaesthetic or pain relief.It has excellent results for diffuse redness which is the general appearance of facial redness which is often associated with a condition called Rosacea, which can be hereditary. E-Light will help with the appearance by gently treating and reducing this condition.

By gently heating up the dermis, well below your skin’s surface, E-Light stimulates collagen and elastin regrowth, therefore discretely and effectively treating fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, uneven skin texture, diffuse redness, acne and some scarring.

You can expect to see subtle yet consistent results after each treatment, restoring the skin’s youthful glow and appearance caused by ageing and sun damage. It is important to use a good SPF when in the sun to protect the skin and stop any further damage. The recommended treatments are one every month for four to six treatments. Please talk to your technician about a skin regime suitable for your skin to retain your results for longer.

Vascular Facial Capillaries, Spider Veins – reduce redness
Patients of all skin colours can have E-Light vein treatment. It treats a broad range of vessels, particularly spider veins, broken capillaries (or Telangiectasia) can be treated effectively and quickly.Patients do not need topical anaesthetic or pain relief as the hand piece is cool and comfortable. The E-Light delivers pulses of light energy which cause blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel which is later reabsorbed by your body and blood flow will be redirected.

All the healing takes place below the skin surface. Although a slight reddening and local swelling of the skin may appear but this will subside within 24 hours.

It is recommended not to take hot baths or showers or participate in any gym activities for one week after treatment, as blood must not be pumped through the vessel. Moderate activity is fine.

Veins will show significant improvement within two to six weeks of treatment, however final results may not be apparent for several months. Over time, if you are prone to facial veins, it is possible for new ones to appear, usually from extreme weather conditions i.e. going from hot to cold and sun damage. Therefore it is advised to use SPF recommended by your technician.

How is the procedure performed and does it hurt?
The skin is cleaned and sterilized. Generally the skin will need to be numbed to ensure your comfort. Therefore the treatment is considered painless. Can it be performed on any skin colour?
Since we are not using heat, yes the dermastamp can be used on any skin colour and skin type.

How long before I see results?
You will see results instantly. However collagen will grow from around the 6 week mark. Your skin will continue to improve over 6-12mths.

How often can I have the dermastamp:
For collagen + skin rejuvenation – 4-6 treatments / 4 wks apart

Should you expect downtime from this treatment?
dermastampThe inflammatory reaction of the skin is extremely short and fades significantly within hours from redness to pinkish that may last from 12 to 24 hours on average. In order to reduce visible redness, we recommend topical healing minerals + hyaluronic acid to help hydrate the skin. Zinc sun protection is also recommended.

What should you avoid afterwards? Nothing stimulating!
You must avoid AHA’s, Retinol (vitamin a) or anything acidic or ‘active’ for a minimum of 2 days.

What should you use on your skin afterwards?
Only use a soothing cleanser to clean, hyaluronic acid to help hydrate as your skin will become very dry. Copper + zinc to help heal and protect.

Can you increase results at home?
Dermaroller recommends their homecare roller system to help stimulate the skin and help penetrate ingredients deeper into it. Use every second day or even just up to once a week to see results
